The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) has issued a Director’s Requirement for Information that will require insurers to submit to TSSA a list of insured agricultural sites that use boilers or pressure vessels (BPVs) for agricultural activities.
The Director’s Requirement for Information will be issued under the authority of section 30(2) of the Technical Standards and Safety Act, 2000 and supports risk-informed safety oversight across Ontario, following the lifting of the regulatory exemption on agricultural BPVs in 2021. The information will be used to help identify agricultural BPVs that may be operating without the required authorizations.
