Advisory Councils

Information about the Ontario Technical Standards and Safety Authority’s Industry Advisory Councils and Consumers Advisory Council.

TSSA engages with industry experts, stakeholders and consumer representatives through Advisory Councils to gather information and input that help us make informed decisions related to our mandate to keep Ontarians safe.

These councils provide a structured mechanism to work with TSSA, sharing relevant knowledge and perspectives, applying experience to study issues, and developing recommendations to help inform and enhance public safety in the province.

Industry Advisory Councils

TSSA industry councils are guided by the Industry Advisory Council Terms of Reference (pdf).

Council meetings are scheduled twice every year and preceded by plenary meetings for each of the program areas listed below.

Consumers Advisory Council

Through the Consumers Advisory Council, TSSA hears from industry experts providing a consumer perspective. Council members are represented on our other industry advisory councils and are guided by the Consumers Advisory Council Terms of Reference (pdf).
