Michael W. Rencheck is Executive Vice-Chair of Bruce Power, serving as a senior advisor to Bruce Power and the industry following his tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bruce Power from 2016-2024.
Mike has served in various senior roles over his 40-year career. Prior to joining Bruce Power in 2016, he served as the Deputy Chief Operating Officer for AREVA Group, overseeing its extensive global capital portfolio of nuclear and renewable projects. Previously he had served in several senior roles at American Electric Power including Senior Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer.
In 2020, he was named the CEO of the Year by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce as part of the Ontario Business Achievement Awards and in 2022 named Leader of the Year by Electricity Human Resources Canada. He also has demonstrated commitment to many organizations that make a difference in people’s lives, including Habitat for Humanity and United Way.
Mike has been recognized by the National Safety Council for his leadership demonstrating a personal commitment to worker health and safety and was designated by the US Department of Energy as a STEM ambassador.
Mike is a Professional Engineer and certified senior reactor operator and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the World Association of Nuclear Operations, Hydro One, Framatome (US) Inc., the Ontario Tech Governing Board, and Mirion Technologies Nuclear Advisory Board.
