Carbon Monoxide Safety

The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) provides Ontarians with important information to help prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.

Carbon Monoxide Safety

With approximately 65% of all carbon monoxide (CO) injuries and deaths in Ontario occurring in homes, it is important for Ontario residents to be in the know when it comes to carbon monoxide safety. This is why carbon monoxide safety and awareness has been one of TSSA's most significant, risk-informed strategies for many years.

As a leading cause of accidental poisonings in Ontario, awareness of the potential for carbon monoxide poisoning associated with the use of fuel-burning appliances in the home is a top priority for TSSA's consumer safety efforts. To this end, TSSA runs public awareness and advocacy campaigns for tackling this user-related risk.
