TSSA's Engineering Team reviews natural gas piping installations designed for pressure higher than 66 pounds per square in gauge (psig) indoors, and 125 psig outdoors to determine their compliance with the Act, Regulations and adopted safety codes and standards. Also fuel oil piping installation with certain design pressure and design temperature will subject to engineering review as shown on the scope of high pressure piping code TSSA-HPP-2020.
Lower pressure piping systems than those noted above do not need TSSA Fuels Safety approval. Contractors registered with TSSA are responsible for ensuring compliance with related safety regulations and standards.
Design Approval
Before a new fuel system is approved, its design is subject to an engineering review to ensure its compliance with safety standards and requirements outlined in Code Adoption Document (CAD). To submit your fuel piping system design for approval, fill out the appropriate form and return to us, along with the required drawing/documents and fee payment (see the Forms & Fees section).
