New Manufacturing Inspections of Boilers & Pressure Vessels
General
TSSA provides the third party authorized inspection services for all new boilers or pressure vessels (nuclear or non-nuclear) manufactured in Ontario.
Contact your local TSSA Inspector before starting the manufacture of any new boiler or pressure vessel.
Design Registration
Design Registration with TSSA is required for all new boilers and pressure vessels to be installed in Ontario. Please refer to the Design Registration portion of this website for the requirements for new boilers or pressure vessels.
Quality Program
A certificate of authorization from TSSA is required to manufacture new boilers or pressure vessels.
An ASME "U" or "S" stamp or other applicable ASME Code stamp certificate of authorization is also acceptable provided all of the requirements of the ASME program, including ASME acceptable data reports and application of the applicable ASME symbol stamp are included.

Refer to Find a Certificate of Authorization Holder for a list of TSSA qualified boiler or pressure vessel manufacturing organizations. (A similar list is available on the ASME website at www.asme.org.)
Inspection Requirements
The boiler and pressure vessel construction Codes and Standards provide the requirements to be observed, as a minimum, by both the manufacturer and the TSSA Inspector.
