Types of Design Registration Services
We review amusement device engineer designs to ensure their compliance with current code requirements in Ontario. Our engineering services include:
Design Registration Before a new amusement device is registered, its design is subject to an engineering review to ensure compliance with the Act, Regulations and adopted safety codes and standards.
To submit a design for registration, complete the Application for Filing of a Technical Dossier and return to us along with your required drawings and your fee payment.
Variance Reviews A variance from regulations and adopted safety codes and standards may be granted where other methods are used to ensure equivalent amusement device safety. They allow flexibility for the designer to use designs that don't strictly comply with current regulations but are determined to not reduce the level of safety. Application for Variance
Engineering Consulting Services For special amusement devices where there are no established standards, TSSA can conduct a preliminary review of an amusement device design to determine its conformance to the Act, Regulations and adopted codes prior to production of the equipment. This is a cost effective option that provides assurance to the amusement device manufacturers that the equipment will be acceptable, before the start of manufacture.
Consulting services are available for items such as code compliance and consultation on design submissions. For more information, please contact: Gord Kanani Email: gkanani@tssa.org
Note: Please consult our Fees Schedule ( ) for a complete list of our charges.
