Advisory Councils
TSSA works diligently to regulate safety in Ontario in a proactive, prevention-based manner. In order to provide strategic oversight and management of safety regulations and issues, TSSA seeks the input of the key managers and technicians from the respective industries that are regulated. These individuals are invited to work with TSSA in support of safety initiatives as a member of a TSSA Advisory Council.
TSSA currently works with 11 Advisory Councils, they are:How are Members selected? Industry Advisory Council membership is intended to represent all sectors of an industry. Members are selected for their ability to represent a significant portion of the overall spectrum of views impacting safety in their industries.
Industry Advisory Council members are all recognized for their abilities to plan and implement creative solutions to today's complex safety issues.
How often do Industry Advisory Councils meet? Most Industry Advisory Councils meet twice per year: a Spring session and a Fall session. Councils are encouraged to conduct more frequent meetings when necessary.
Support for all Advisory Councils: TSSA's Council Coordinator supports all Advisory Councils through scheduling of meetings, preparation of agendas and meeting minutes and maintenance of all other Council records. The Council Coordinator acts as TSSA's primary administration contact and is responsible for the effectiveness of TSSA's support of Advisory Council initiatives.
